Hey guys, I know questions have been asked of similar nature but I am rather quite confused. I am going for my first water cooling setup which includes a 240mm radiator just for the cpu. I also have the cm storm Stryker case. I can either install it on the bottom of the case or top. Problem with bottom is that it's exhausting hotter air over other components but should keep my cpu cooler. Problem with top is that it's taking in hotter air. In the future I will have 2x radiators so it doesn't matter as much 6 months or so down the track bit I'm really looking for advice tubing and set up doesn't matter that's all planned out.

Solution
I would say put it on the top just because the hot air will move over your parts less as it will stay at the top. I would put a regular exhaust fan on the front on top to push out any hot air that might be lingering. In fact from the pictures it looks like there is one installed there already. Not sure how accurate neweggs posing is of cm storm Stryker case http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119260. I'm going to assume it is.

Thanks for the response. I have the noctua 140 mm (Nfp14) instead of the default set as my exhaust fan at the back top at the moment. This means my exhausting fan is quite efficient, however at the top is a 200mm fan that came with the case in order to run my radiator i will need to remove it which is the big exhaust but that shouldn't matter too much. I think I read somewhere that the air exhausted from the radiator is actually not all that hot so it wouldn't heat up the components too much but the CPU is already cooled which just leaves the GPU. Its just a really tough decision

I would suggest just setting up. Placing a load on it and watching your temperature readings. Switching it up and placing a load on it and check the temp of your gpu again and see if there is really that big of a difference. My guess is there probably won't be. But if you're truly committed to finding out. That would be your best bet.

Thanks for your help, I also have the Asus v1 Formula with the Rog armour and due to that component, and the sound card positioning on the MB I actually could not fit the radiator to the top. ... Not unless I was to remove the handle which i like the look of and enjoy the utility it brings so bottom was the answer. Had a whole day today of trying to work out how I could fit everything and wow its tight. It was incredibly hard to get the 270mm d5 photon reservoir and the 780 ti reference in there together to the point where I have had to literally re do all of my cabling and remove all hard drive cages etc. I have it secured with about 20 Cable ties, I hope this will suffice to hold it still without making my whole case shake or something as there is literally nowhere in my case to mount it. If all works out ill post some pics 😛
