Hi everyone, this is my first post in here and i want to thank you guys in advance for all the support i`ve got in here on other people`s topics and sorry for any typos in this post, for english is not my native language. Now i am in a bit of a crossroads here. So i`ve got the new gigabyte gtx 1070 g1 gaming and i just think that it looks awesome, but i am ditching my old sealed h100i and building a new custom watercooler loop. The problem is, i want to keep the original housing of the card, the rgb lighting and the awesome backplate, and i also want to water cool it in the loop. Is there any way for me to do this?

Solution
In short, no. The shroud of the G1 Gaming heatsink attaches to the heat sink itself, which is then screwed onto the PCB. So unless you're willing to literally tape it onto the water block (and even then you may have issues), you can't keep on the original backplate and shroud.
