Hello everyone,

I am currently in the middle of planning my first attempt at a water cooling loop, I have created a diagram and would like to know whether it will work, what wont work, what I have done wrong , why its wrong and how I can fix it e.t.c

What will I be cooling? i7 4790k and a GTX 980ti

Which case do I have? Phanteks Enthoo Pro. HDD brackets and optical drive bays have been removed along with the support bracket. Actually, any tips on where I can mount my HDD (3.5'' sata) would be appreciated.

Thank you for reading through all this, any help will be appreciated. Cheers!

Actually you just want your res to be above the pump to prevent air bubbles.

Enthoo Pro case has 2.5" HDD/SSD brackets. You can mount smaller drives behind the MoBo tray.

There is space at the bottom, underneath where you plan to place your res, that may be enough room for a 3.5" HDD without the drive cages.

*IF* You are in the planning stages and have not ordered/built anything yet, consider getting this kit...which will have MOST of the parts you need included. You will only need a few of the items seperately.

It comes with 1 bottle of premixed coolant, D5 pump, great CPU block. You'll need to grab 1...
Will it work in the real world, YES. Is it the best way, no. In a perfect world you want to have the res be the highest point in the system and the CPU to be the first thing cooled, right now if you were to turn off your computer water will drain from the rad into the res, when you turn the computer back on the pump will force the air down into the res. The force of the water into the res through the top will cavitate the water (or air bubbles in the water) which you pump might pick up and push through the system.

One way to try to get rid of this is to come off the top of the res straight up to the top of the case, drill a hole and mount a fill port there. this will allow most of the air to fill this tub instead of the radiator or res.

Thanks for responding guys. Okay second draw up, took into account each of your advice, also decided to add another radiator in there.
