Whenever I start my computer, it makes a sound that kind of represents water dripping. This only happens when I start my computer and a few seconds after that. My hard drive is solid state, so I know it's not the hard-drive.

PSU most likely - - mine makes a fair bit of din for about 15 seconds after cold boot. It's not a high-quality one but it does the job.

I don't have any gaming cards installed, it's just a basic system. Might get around to fitting a quality PSU some time but I'm loathe to spend money replacing something that works when there are always household bills that have to be paid.

Hi
This is most likely thermal expansion which causes metal to move and often causes a ticking sound until the working temperature is achieved.
As Phillip Corcoran says it is probably coming from the PSU as it heats up.

Hope this doesn't count as a bump.. But I'm also having similar situation, only it happens while I'm gaming. Sounds like water dripping, consistently. I do NOT have a cooling system, so that's whats driving me insane.

Hi
Does it happen all of the time when you are playing games or just for a few seconds at the start ?
Have you tried to locate where the sound is coming from ?
