Water fall effect on my display. What could it be?

I have a Nvidia GTS 250. My display (Acer H233H) looks like is has fast running water running across the screen at a diagonal angle. I first notice it about three days ago and it was very slight. Today it is a lot worst. I can't really see it on white backgrounds, but it become more visible the darker the background. My display is only a couple of years old. Could it be going out this soon? Or is this a graphics card problem?

Update the display driver first and check results.

i had a simlair problem when i was using a vga cable so i changed o dvi and it worked, hope this helps

Yes, DVI will definitely help, but do update the display drivers.
