Okay, about a week or two ago I was installing new heatsink and I'm guessing a drop of sweat or something got on the motherboard below the RAM above the PCI lanes...I started computer up, saw a teeny bit of smoke, shut it off. Motherboard has been out, air dried and now I'm wondering if I can put it back in. What to look for if damage has occured?

I agree.
I do recommend you put it back together however stand by the Power Supply OFF switch to shut if off quickly if anything happens.

Testing:
1. Run MEMTEST www.memtest.org for one full cycle (about 30min for 8GB)

2. Run PRIME95 in Windows for at least 15 minutes.
