[SOLVED] Watercooling Idle Temps

Hey guys, need some minor help with our watercooling gurus here.

I recently disassembled my watercooling loop to clean it and I noticed something after I put it back.

My idle/load temps before disassembly is 32c/70c on an i7-10700k OC'd at 4.9GHZ - 1.265V - ambient temp is 26-27C
My CPU block is an EK Quantum Velocity

When I put it back on, my idle/load temps became 39c/79c!

I did not change any settings. I literally just cleaned the parts and re-installed it.

I tried repasting my processor (Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut) but it's still the same.

give it a couple of days, some compounds take a longer to set. the other issue may be how tightly you torque the screws and if the contact is consistent

Thank you. Now that you mention it, I'm not sure if my method of reinstalling the cpu block might have affected it?

I put it back in an upright position. I did not bother to lay down my cpu case though I'm sure that I tightened the screws enough. You think it affected the contact?

it might, usually if you tighten alternate corners it should do the trick - overtightening may be counter-productive

Noted. I'll try to loosen up the screws and check if it lowers my temps.
