Im working for a IT company at the moment who are buying new comps for vista. Me and the other IT partner are buying 2 brand new comps for ourseleves to test out vista on our network. This is more or less an excuse for us to buy a couple of top notch computers for ourselves. Ive got the parts list that i want i just have a lot more budget to go still...

What kind of watercooling can everyone suggest for someone with about 400-500 quid spare to spend?

Um... yea basically. I wanna try teaching my boss to overclock. Plus ive got a huge budget to waste and so i might as well get the best i can.

My point is just that there is no single best for all purposes. Why not spend the watercooling money on getting multiple widescreen LCDs per computer? You'll be a lot happier, and it will look a lot more impressive.

because we have 48 dell 21 inch tft monitors throughout the building. It looks proffessional. Trust me, the Top boss's here are really nice when it comes to IT and budgets. I want watercooling, so whats the best watercooling for a 680i chipset, 8800GTX and a core 2 duo E6600? I think this setup may possibly, with some watercooling, provide me with a little bit of overclocking headroom... Maybe 10mhz or something. Something to show my boss anyway.

yeah the boss is very nice to the IT department, until you burn up a brand new system with a water cooler short! If you knew what you where getting into you would not even want the problems that come with WC.

How about you save that money in the IT buget and help some kid out of school get a job with your department? That's the best way to blow the cash....

Um... they did. Now.. i aint asking whether i should... tbh its my boss's money and hes curious as well. We are playing with watercooling. If it goes tits up so be it. I want to know, on topic now, what is the best i can get, in the area of watercooling, for 300-400 quid.

Just listen. Watercooling is not the "professional" thing to do. If someone ever walks into your office they'll think you're a nerd rather than thinking your IT skills are good.

*sigh* Its really not about being proffessional. Its about having a go with something new. I aint used it before and since my boss is asking about it im having a look into it. I know these discussions go off topic but man this was fast...

Koolance is very reputable, their products are very "professional" and perform well. Their 725 series cases are very nice. It's cheaper to purchase their products through directron though. Check out their website on www.koolance.com to browse their products.

I don't understand why all these guys get into such a fit over what other people are doing.

This is no different than someone coming on and saying "why are you guys wasting your time and money on computers, go out and get a life"... who the hell gives a f*ck why he's doing it, he came on for advise and information, give your life and "professional" advise to someone who asked for it. If he wants to do it and his BOSS wants him to do it, who is anyone else to say they shouldn't or where they should spend their money? It's not YOUR money.

Anyway, to the OP, there are a lot of "complete" systems or kits out there, thermaltake, swiftech, dangerden, corsair, asetek, alphacool, koolance... etc. I think that you'll find it easier to get asetek and alphacool as they are european based, the others might be harder to get. I personally like dangerden, swiftech and alphacool products but asetek is good too.

Cool.. I 100% agree.

Cmon, my E6600 can do 50% oc with only air cooling. Sure with watercooling especially DangerDen complete system can do more than this.

If only I have $400 to spend, I would buy 1 ThermoChill radiator HE120.2 for cpu, 1 ThermoChill HE120.1 for gpu and northbridge , and 6 Silverstone FM121 Fans for push&pull. 8)

Down to the big guns:
Swiftech STORM
MCW-60 or Cooltechnica MP-1
Thermochill PA120.3 (Optimized for silent fans)
dual MCP355 (Laing DDC-2)
Get a reservoir just for bleeding purposes
Tygon tubing

Chipset cooling is novelty, nothing AS5 below the HS and a 40mm on top cant handle. It will hurt the performance on the rest of the water cooling rig.
