Hi,
Anyone have any experience or idea about how to adapt the mcw55 (swiftech vga waterblock) to the 7800 GS. Im only interested in cooling the core of the card not the memory chips (i will just put bga heatsinks on them)....My main concern is how to cool the bridge chip responsible for the pci-e conversion to agp....Will a heatsink be enough or do i need to do something more elaborate with it....any help is greatly valued, thanx in advance.

i was even thinking about permanently mounting the waterblock by using some kind of thermal interface material (maybe something like "bondo" for cars).....it would have to be strong enough to give good contact as well as conductive enough to let the waterblock do its job.....any suggestion for any such material or should i just stick with the tried and true method of using screws to mount the waterblock.

I have seen folks use old adaptors for cpu's to attach them, and even use wooden blocks ( no contacts).

This card really should not need water cooling to maintain temps, the thermal profile should be well served by a half decent air solution.

i realize that air cooling is more than sufficient for regular stock operation but im trying to overclock this card while maintaining cooler temperatures relative to air cooling ....appreciate the input though
