Wath is the app TIMERESOLUTION and can it damage CPU?

Hello!!

So i was trying to play Crysis 3 on my desktop pc, but the game plays so laggy, sttutering, massive FPS drops all over the place from 60 fps to 32 fps, unplayable. i have the lastest patches

everything installed, does not matter lowering grahics settings or resolutions. the problem maintains.

these are my SPECS:

I7 3770(3.4-3.9 GHZ)
500 GB HDD
ASUS STRIX GTX 970 4GB GDRR5
16GB RAM DDR 3 1600 KINGSTON
an ASUS cpu STOCK COOLER ( well better than intel stock cooler)

cpu temps DURING GAMING: 50c-70c
gpu temps during gaming: 50c-65.


Reading around the web i found many people with the same problem with this particular game, and i found in a Forum an APP called TIMER RESOLUTION i dunno wthat it is but is quite simple

to use that in theory would fix the problem, of course i did not belive it, but i tried anyaway, its free.

Just start the APP before gaming or during gaming 15.625 miliseconds it was showed my current Timer information, then press MAXIMUM and then my Current timer information goes to 0.500 miliseconds.

and MAGIC happen, NOW i play Crysis 3 BUTTER SMOOTH 60 fps 1080p HIGH/ULTRA settings, no more lag, no more fps spikes, drops, its Great.


so 2 questions:

Wath does this APP really does?

And more important CAN it damage my CPU or MOBO or anything in long term?

Well, I am taking a guess at what the app is (and what it does). I am guessing it is a memory patch for the game, or something along the line of a patch. And second, I highly doubt it'll do anything yo your MoBo or CPU. It sounds like any other 3rd party patch for a game. Hope this helped.

Right, so what it looks like it is doing is devoting the CPU To directly crysis and not much more, it should be safe. Just make sure your CPU Isn't overheating.

well the temps of the cpu while playing with this software are between 55c-72c. depending on the action and map.
basicly the same if dont use the software
i notice CPU USAGE increase from an avarge of 30% to 40%
i am on stock cooler AIR, sometimes the cpu fan goes to teh limit 4800 RPM very Loud.

but it does the same when i play Far cry 4 without any tipe of software

This should be okay then. As crysis is known for it's un-optimization.
