Hi, I was going through VGA BIOS files of various RX470s from different manufacturers.

All Rx470 GPUs had different target temperatures, max target wattage.

Here's my GPU:

and heres another GPU:

Why is there a difference in target wattage 87Watts in my GPU and 135Watts in Nitro+
(Is it because of the VRM capability)

Should the target temperature be different (Is it a practice of manufacturers to lower speeds)?

I target my GPU temps at 70deg.C, should I increase it to 75 deg. Is it safe for a prolonged use?

Nitro+ definitely has a better cooler.
I am going to dismantle the card to do a little analysis of VRMs and change the thermal paste, just to make sure that I don't end up burning my VRMs. I hate it when my card throttles at 70'.

I just applied Arctic MX-4 on my GPU. The stock thermal paste was pretty dry.

Saw around 8'C drop in temps at stock clocks.

Stock thermal paste(stock clocks):
GPU: 1226MHz
VRAM: 1750MHz
Temps: 70'C
Wattage:87W
Fan RPM: around 2500 to 3000
A lot of throttling here

after applying Arctic MX4(OC'ed):
GPU: 1265MHz
VRAM: 1750MHz
Temps:74'C
Wattage: 100W
Fan RPM: 1500 to 2000
Not much throttling

Should I run the GPU at 100W? I don't know if the VRM is good enough for that?

Done! Ran it at 105Watts, should hold good till 110Watts, since RX470 Max TDP is around 120W. I will allow 10W room for it.

The temps are kinda high again (not much). DO you think I applied too much thermal paste(MX4).
I heard there's no curing time for the MX4.

Doesn't go beyond 76'C with 75'C target.
