I currently have a 650 evga gold psu in my system. Will it work with a 3070 or most likely a 3080?
Current Specs:
Ryzen 5 3600
Asus x570
Rx5700xt
16gb(2x8)3000mhz ram
nvme ssd and sata ssd

Solution
A good quality 650W unit should handle even a 3080. There are spikes to ~370W from what I've seen, but those are rare, and typical power draw is closer to ~330-340W

Paired with a Ryzen5, you should be fine at 650W if it's good quality. Which "EVGA Gold" do you have?

the supernova. I got it this year free of charge from a walmart screw up. So spikes to 370-380 worst case senario. Paired with a sub 90watt cpu worst case senario. 100 for the other stuff. 650 would be fine then! Im probably gonna undervolt the gpu and overclock the VRAM too so that might reduce the load.
