Hello,

Specs/hardware

GPU: GTX 970 4GB.
CPU: FX 8350.
RAM: 16 GB.
Monitor 1: 1360 x 768 LCD HDMI connection.(main monitor)
Monitor 2: 1920 x 1080 LCD VGA using a DVI converter.
OS: Windows 10 64

I'm having issue with monitor number 2 above. Whenever a game is run on monitor number 1, wavy lines appear on monitor number 2. The second monitor only has VGA cable which is connected to the GPU using a DVI converter. The wavy lines vanish once any game has closed down. A number of games have been run. The same issue happens. All other cables plugs have been checked and are fine.

The PSU has been checked and its running fine. My question is this. Is this happening because a VGA cable is being used on the second monitor? Another thing tested was having the HDMI cable from monitor 1 plugged into a HDMI - DVI converter. This changed nothing.

Would it be the best option to replace monitor number 2 with something that has a connection other than VGA?

Any replies would be great.

Thank you!

Thank you for the quick reply.

How can I tell which is a better quality VGA cable?

With VGA cables, the thicker ones tend to have sheilding for this kind of thing.
