Ways to optimize performance on Windows 10?

My rig is by no means anything crazy but I see myself having issues in many games where the recommended settings are ''high'' or above. What can I do to improve my PC's performance without upgrading the hardware?

My specc:
AMD Ryzen 5 1400 Quad-Core Processor
8GB Kingston 2400MHz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050

Make sure you're using the newest nVidia Driver. Could be the Video cards Memory is axed since 1050s only have 2GB if I remember right? What games are you playing?

Hm I think I have the latest but not sure. Will check when I get home, Thanks! Mostly World of Warcraft, Heroes of the Storm and some Overwatch.

Hm, the audio driver and LAN driver was not up to date but the update doesn't seem to have changed much. Thanks for the tip though 🙂
