WD 1600js for windows only

Solution
Yeah, you can, use the WD160gb only for windows and the other drive for everything else, however this is an older, slower drive, which would mean your computer will boot slower and your loading times will increase, yet you will be saving 50GBs TOP on your 1tb HDD. The performance loss is not really worth it for some 160gb extra, in my eyes.

Hey there, omaryessam!

@Gingerbread definitely made some pretty decent points! I'm also afraid that you'd not be as pleased with its performance due to the fact that it's an older model. Moreover, I'd also strongly recommend you to test the HDD and determine its health and SMART status before trusting your data with it (even if it's just the OS). You can do that by running the QUICK and EXTENDED tests from WD's Data LifeGuard Diagnostics for Windows. If you currently don't have Windows installed, you can also give the DOS version a try. It will allow you to test the HDD without booting into the OS.

I'd also recommend you to do regular backups of your data and copy it somewhere else (preferably off-site). This is the best way to avoid any potential data loss.

Hope this was helpful. Keep us posted! :)
