Hi

Is there different between these types of HDD with same model (both are WD 1003FZEX)?, because one of them has black circles and different face but another not has!

Hey there, drjackool!

I'm sorry to hear about your confusion with the labels. Unfortunately, the pics are too small for me to see.
However, when you're in doubt about things like the label or the originality of the product, I'd strongly recommend you to refer to our official website and check the appearance there. Here is a link to the WD Black's page: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=N6emtU

If you are concerned at any point about your WD product, you should always do a warranty status check and make sure that the serial number is legit. Here's a link to the Warranty status check as well: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=Uj5TGR

Hope it helps. Keep me posted if you have more questions! :)

P.S. Thanks...

ya , something about that label ??

see here the same label but notes old drive ??? I got plenty of wd blacks that are old but ???

http://www.amazon.com/Western-Digital-WD1002FAEX-Internal-Desktop/dp/B0036Q7MV0

heres the same drive same part number at new egg but not with the same label ??

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136533

but here at the wd support site page it shows the one label as well ???

http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.aspx?id=760

also as the wd guy states go to there site and see what part numbers are listed as current drives cause I think with wd the drives warrantee starts at its manufacturing date not the date you bought it

so with that no point buying a old stock drive and loose some warrantee time

but now seeing that the same drives part number and all got 2 different labels on them now make me wonder whats up with that as well ???

could be just as simple as they changed the labels at the factory or the one label came from a plant in china and different label from a plant in Singapore ??

but looks like that model number is a current one that may count in the end ??

Hey there again, @junkeymonkey!

I'd recommend you and @drjackool to use our official website as a guide when buying WD drives. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee for drives sold by third-party resellers. However, you can use the WD Store to buy our products as well. http://store.westerndigital.com
As I already mentioned, regardless of the label on the WD drive, it's strongly recommended to always check the warranty immediately after you've received the HDD. The best way to determine the ingenuity of the drives is through the hardware's serial numbers. This should be displayed on the label or you can find it using WD's Data LifeGuard Diagnostics. Hope I was helpful. Let me know if you have more questions!
