WD 1TB Drive not Initializing

Hello,

I have a server MBO and Chassis with 7 hot-swap drives. But I am using windows 7 on it right now.

I had this hard drive working before. Now in Computer Management it comes up as "Disk5 Unknown Not Initialized" so I right click and I hit Initialize Disk MBR style. Then in about 15seconds an Error message pops up and says "The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error".

Is my disk dead? I have a lot of data on it and I don't have a backup of the drive.

It is a Western Digital WD10EACS 1TB Caviar.

Any Help?

Any tools i can try?

Any ideas? help?

Is there a tool i can run to check the disk? i know i can use the Ultimate Boot Cd but is there a tool i can use inside windows?

And try and save my data??
