For some reason, plugging in a brand new SN770 into my Z390 A-Pro's m.2 slot causes a black screen. It doesn't even give the option to go into BIOS. I have windows 10 on a Samsung EVO 860 connected via a SATA port. I have tried setting the boot order in bios (only able to do this when the SN770 isn't plugged in), switching from legacy+UEFI to UEFI, switching the 860 to different SATA ports but nothing works.

Anyone have any ideas? I also recently put in a new RX 6750 XT, but it works fine when the SN770 isn't plugged in.

Make sure the disk is properly seated in the motherboard. Make sure to insert the disk firmly into the slot and secure it with the mounting screw.
Make sure that you have correctly installed the M.2 drive into the appropriate M.2 storage slot.
Your motherboards could have more than one M.2 slots, but not all slots support M.2 storage disks.
Even though a PCIe Gen 4.0 M.2 disk is supposed to be backward compatible with PCIe Gen 3.0 M.2 slots...some motherboard might refuse to boot. . Make sure to check the motherboard's specifications to see if it supports PCIe 4.0 M.2 disks.
Updating the BIOS to the latest version available could help.
