WD Black - which model?

About to build new pc based on strix z370-e + i7 8700k (planned OC as much as possible)
I was considering WD black ssd but now I can see two models:
WDS500G2X0C and WDS512G1X0C

Apart 500v512GB - what's the difference between those models?
The firs one looks newer - will it work with this mainboard?

What about Samsung - shall I consider it as well?

The newer model - WDS500G2X0C - is supposedly faster.
Whether you would ever notice any difference is debatable.

And yes, you should consider Samsung drives as well.
