Wd blue 1 tb hard drive reading size as 512 B

I have just built a pc with an asrock ab350 pro4 mobo connected to a wd 1tb hard drive, i plugged everything in correctly, I insert my usb to download windows and drive 0 unallocated space has 0 mb used and 0 mb free space. So i tried to go into diskpart so i can clean it or format it and activate and it says my hard drive has 512 B size instead of 931 gb obviously. Can i fix this or do i have a faulty hard drive. Please reply asap. Thanks in advance.

512 B is Sector Size Layout, not the drive capacity.

Beginning in late 2009, accelerating in 2010 and hitting mainstream in 2011, hard drive companies are migrating away from the legacy sector size of 512 bytes to a larger, more efficient sector size of 4096 bytes, generally referred to as 4K sectors.

The latest OS use Advanced format (4K).

Ok thanks for the information, but it's not letting me install windows on this hdd or do anything to it at all. Can you please help me install windows on this hard drive. How do I do it. Thanks
Also will this happen to anyone who builds the same setup as mine or is this a rare issue.
