Hello, so my problem is I have a new WD Blue 1T SSD I am trying to get my system to recognize. I have looked at multiple forums and tried a lot of steps and it still wont show up in my bios or Computer Management.

Using windows 7 i already have 1T HDD installed which is what windows is installed on, also have a PNY 240gb SSD already installed almost at max capacity. Never had any issues having it recognize the PNY when I put it in, and that was still when the system was in IDE.. I have also switched the sata ports twice and it still did not seem to make a difference for the system to recognize that I have a new SSD hooked up..

What I have done.

I have changed in regedit iastorV/Start to 0

Changed msahci/Start 0

rebooted and went into Bios and changed IDE to AHCI saved and had drivers installed and rebooted again and still not seeing my new SSD anywhere..

If anyone has any other ways of making my system see the new SSD or knows what I am doing wrong. I would really appreciate some help.. I am assuming I am missing something.

Usually, they are plug and play, and you don't have to do anything special to have them recognized. The only thing you might try is a different SATA data cable and possibly a different SATA power connector. If that doesn't fix the issue, it is time to RMA the drive.

yeah, but before i return it i was trying to see if anyone knew of something i was doing wrong.
