I'm building a new pc and am using a Asrock b550 Phantom Gaming 4a/c motherboard for which I have installed my ssd in using its hyper m.2 slot, but when I boot into bios it doesn't show up as a storage device or bootable drive, and when I boot using usb for windows 10 installation, the installer is unable to detect the ssd. I've looked around for answers some of which recommending to go into onboard configuration settings and changing pcie setting up in bios, but my onboard configuration doesn't even have that as an option, I even updated the bios to make sure.

Solution
The M.2 slot in your motherboard does not list support for SATA SSD's.

Storage - 1 x Hyper M.2 Socket (M2_1), supports M Key type 2260/2280/22110 M.2 PCI Express module up to Gen4x4 (64 Gb/s) (with Matisse) or Gen3x4 (32 Gb/s) (with Renoir)
