Hey, i just built a new system and it is only recognizing my HD as being 931GB. Is this normal, or is it possible that i got a defective hard drive and am going to continue getting more and more bad sectors? I really dont want to install everything and then have to RMA it later and reinstall everything again.

Your drive is fine. The difference is between the way all drive manufactures calculate storage (powers of 10) and the way computers calculate storage (powers of 2).

Ok, Thanks. I had just never had a difference as large as 69gb before, but my biggest hd before this one was 250.

bigger the storage the more it is effected by computer calculation
