Hi all,
I recently purchased a Western Digital caviar blue 500gb internal hard drive for my new build. The specifications mention that it works best when used on a SATA 6gb/s port. I’ve currently plugged it into the 6gb/s port on my motherboard. However, the widows experience index on windows 7 64bt, rates it a meager 5.9 out of 7.9. Have I done something wrong? Or should I plug my hard drive into the 3gb/s port on my motherboard?
Here are the other components included in my rig: (If it helps)
MB: MSI Z77A GD65
CPU: Intel core i5 3570k
RAM: G Skill ripjaws X (4gb x 2) running at 1600mhz
PSU: Corsair TX 650 – 650 watts power supply
Cooler: Cooler master hyper 212 evo
DVD: HP DVD burner 1260
Hard drive: WD Caviar Blue 500 gb
Please advise my guys on which port I should plug in my hard drive to get better performance.
Thanks in advance.
