WD Caviar Green (WD20EARX) slowing my pc down

Hello,
I have built a system recently and it was running fine with an old seagate 500 GB & Windows 8 - 64 bit.

Now today I connected WD Caviar Green 2 TB (WD20EARX) & problems started. My pc generally took nearly 10 seconds to boot but now it takes 90 seconds. I partitioned it in 3 parts (500+600+leftover). It took nearly an hour for partitioning.
It also took so much time transfering music from an sd card (I finally cancelled the transfer)
I disconnect it and everything is fast again.

Am I doing something wrong?
I am preety sure it can't be this slow.

I've asked a couple friends and tried searching around for some information for you, but I wasn't able to find anything conclusive, regarding something like this..

The harddrive was faulty.
I have replaced it with another one and now it is working fine.

mine earx is giving click noise whenever i access and then stop accessing it,otherwise working fine did your do anything like this?

sumitd it sounds like yours is failing, Send it in for warranty repair.
