Question WD Discovery won't run

My computer sees' my external drive. But after last nights' Win11 update. The software for the drive won't run.

Have you got latest version of WD DIscovery? Seems to be one from Jan here - https://support.wdc.com/downloads.aspx?lang=en

I updated to Win11 several months ago. Last night was an update. The link you provided. Says I have the latest version, already.

what do you use discovery for? seems it updates WD Software. Do you need it to actually use the drive?

I got the external(2TB) drive to backup my HD(1TB). I do have an identical HD. I just haven't installed it yet. It worked before the recent Win11 update.

like all problems started by windows, it could fix itself with another update. Its likely an unexpected result of another change.

you could always uninstall the update and set windows update to pause for a few weeks to see if problem is resolved.

Okeydokey. I will ignore the backup notices Win11 keeps giving me and wait for the next update.

i not sure why i gave you win 10 instructions but the steps are mostly the same, they just moved the menus.

Haven't received anymore notices for the screenshot. As for uninstalling the update, that is easy, regardless of the Win10 link.
