WD Elements 1TB taking forever to connect to mac

Ok,

So have this external hard drive and as the tile said it's taking forever to load up and connect to the computer... sometimes up to an hour... and sometimes it goes really fast... I've tried to switch the cable but no difference. I really need help with this because I use my hard drive pretty often in situations were I don't have the time to wait for the hard drive to connect. and sometimes when I move the hard drive the slightest it disconnects.

samuelsandberg98, best to get in touch with the drives manufacture for support. Also, if you have not done so yet, back up your information as soon as possible as the drive my head South at any moment.
