Since you have a WD Elements, the external hard drive does not include the WD SmartWare Software. This basically means that you can use any third-party encryption utilities out there, however, I can't recommend you anything specific. I'd only advise you to go through this article from our knowledge base on How to password protect data on a WD external drive.
