I was going to shuck this drive, then I wanted to do the bad sector test before I do.
Crystal disk info looked spotless.
Model is WDC WD140EDGZ-11B1PA0 14000.5 GB
Downloaded the "WD Drive Utilities" and started the "Complete Drive Test."
Before that I set the Windows 10 "turn off hard drives after" to never. Also turned off the time-off setting in the WD utilities settings.
Test started at Power on hours of 2, now it is 98 hrs. which is longer than 4 full days, and consistent with the clock time.
Does it mean
(1) it is still checking bad sectors
(2) drive is bad, maybe stuck at certain sector?
The drive LED is consistently blinking since I started the test. When I touch the drive case, I can feel the head moving every 20 seconds or so.
Do you think I should stop the test and replace the drive?
