Alright, so I am aware that there are other threads sort of similar, but not quite - and not as actual anymore.

I'm looking for both performance and silence (though the perf does come first). They are both for the same price.
My objections; Golds are primarily made for servers, and the RAID thing - and according to benchmarks, they should be pretty loud.
On the other hand, the Blacks' noise is way more discussed, and some pieces are just Blues marketed as Blacks. Any tips from anyone, please?

black, but noise will only be managed by the housing you put it in, silicon grommets etc. A cheap SSD might be better as will give a much much better performance, just shuffle games on and off the SSD from some other cheaper HDD that you never actually use other than for long term rarely accessed storage.

I pretty much don't have any extra bought silencing housings - picking the right parts has to do the trick.
I already have a SSD for the system and 1TB + 200GB for other stuff. I like to switch between the games quite often, so 1. I'd have to keep installing and uninstalling, 2. I'd have to keep the installation files for some of them, and 3., looking at how large modern games are, another 250GB SSD would be taken up by 3-4 games, which isn't quite enough for me. Not even talking about the non-game files...
