Hello, I want to build a pc and I don't know weather to get a WD caviar green or black. I also want if anyone knows to tell me the power that they use. For example what diference would they have on booting?

Solution
Caviar Blue. You won't see a big difference between Blue or Black. They both run 7200 rpm but read and write speeds are a little different. Caviar Green runs around 5400 rpm , but Western Digital doesn't specify.

I have the WD Caiar Blue , Steam , Chrome, iTunes, and 20 games in it, and my PC boots in less than 20 seconds.
The power difference between those two are small. Not even a watt.

The Black series is performance-oriented, while green is cheap, but slow. Blue would be some sort of compromise between price and performance.

Solution
Take the black, they are about 30 % more expensive, but are much better quality.

I have 8 year old 500 Gb Western digital black and no bad sectors on them or anything .

Also 5 year warranty is a great thing if it would ever become defective.
If your on a budget, get the blue.
