Hello, I just bought a Sharkoon QuickPort XT USB 3.0 V2 which is really convient to have. I tried my brother's old slow laptop 2.5 inch Samsung HDD and I got around 60mb/s. And I now bought this WD Green 2TB second hand with no issues what so ever. The owner emptied it so I plugged in the Quickport XT and started transfering some data. I got around 10-20mb/s which is hella slow. Any idea what is causing this? Thank you

Try downloading Crystal Disk Info in my signature and run it while the hard drive is plugged in. It should detect it. See if it might be failing or not. If it says good then it most likely isn't but can still be failing. Maybe try plugging it in on a SATA port in the PC and try transfering and see if it gives you the same speed or not

After it finisehd transfering the files I unplugged the drive, disconnected the usb and connected everything again and now it does 100-120 mb/s all of a sudden (with same files). Sometimes turning it off and on again is enough. Thanks anyways :)
