It's the summer season. Room temp is going beyond 40c.
HDD was running fine 30-35c in winter but now it's hitting 50c.
Is it safe? How to cool down the HDD? When I touch the HDD after just shut down it really feels hot.

HDD- WD blue 1tb 7200rpm

So u already know what the prob is, the HD needs better ventilation. Am afraid u have to go beyond what the case vendor gave you and make necessary modification. Hole(s) in front of the HD (got an unused drive bay u can remove the cover?) and lastly another fan in front or rear of the HD.

50c is on the high side, won't kill HD right away but may shorten its lifespan.

Looks like the only option. I don't have much time for 2 - 3 weeks. Can run pc on these temps?
I really want to know that If those temps are a real threat or I'm just panicking?
