WD Install Issue

Hello, I just bought a WD 600 gig hard drive for my approx 5 year old Dell Dimensions 3000 computer and I'm having problems with the install. The computer recognized the drive, but when I clicked on the window (saying you have new hardware the window disappeared. I did this again with a double click on the window (it dispaeared and then a right click on the window and it disappeared again. Now it doesn't pop up at all. I went to the WD site and downloaded the latest drivers, but in my attempt to update my computer with those drivers a glitch came along and the drivers could not be installed. Obviously I'm no genius at this, but I have installed Seagate drivers before without any problems. Any ideas out there. Thanks. Bear

can you see the drive in the Disk Manager?
