I build a pc in 2015 with asus maximus vii hero z97 board. Now in 2019 i purchased a wd 500gb m.2 ssd for my pc model no. WDS500G2B0B. I place my ssd in m.2 slot of my motherboard and do necessary setting for it but my ssd not showing anywhere.

May be my motherboard is old show it is not compatible for this ssd. Please suggest me what should i do.

The M.2 socket on your motherboard supports m-key 2260 and 2280 (these numbers are dimensions dimensions) SSDs with the PCIE interface.

That Western Digital M.2 SSD requires a slot with SATA3 interafce. They are not compatible, that is that SSD will not work on the motherboard.
