Question wd m.2 ssd nvme drive slow write speeds

im using a asus rog strix scar 2 gaming laptop, and just my write speeds on my wd m.2 nvme drive are slow. the read speeds seem fine. please help. the wd utility has all green lights says drive is normal no issues. ssd model number-wdc pc sn520 sdapnuw-256g-1002...……….crystaldiskmark speeds are- read-1666.3...……...write-580.9...……..

I'd also make sure write caching is indeed enabled within device mngr/disk drives/WD520/policies....

(WD claims 1300 MB/sec sequential writes, btw....)

I am assuming that it’s installed in the wrong pci slot. It probably needs an x4 slot

its a x2 drive in a x4 slot.

is this before or after using for a bit just a thought on temps being a problem most likely not but worth asking . also some bios let you change the slot to different types 🤔

The Sn520 256Gb only has a 3gb eSLC buffer after which it drops to it's native speeds of just over 400MB/s.
