my wd drive is not working normally ,I'm not able to read the contents of it and it's hanging my pc and others when i connect to them . Problem started a few days back , it used to work normally but becomes unresponsive after some minutes, this remain the scenario for two days but now it has totally become unresponsive and i'm not able to read it at all . The drive is shown to be connected in device manager and after many minutes it is detected in explorer also but only showing as 'local disk' not as 'my passport' . Sometimes it is detected by WD utilities but many times not . I tried running recuva for data recovery , easeUS data recovery , easeUS partition manager but all these software hangs on connecting drive and if they do not then also they are not able to process further . I've also tried changing drive's usb cable. The led activity light on drive is working , when i connect the drive and try to hear the spinning it spins for sometime but after that stops and before stopping there is a light sound of click which can be heard on placing it close to ears. chkdsk keeps on working wiithout a percent of progress and sometimes detects it to be raw file system
I've attached various screenshots of the drive as detected on computer and on these software for better understanding .
Please help me to revive this drive as it contains vital backup and is almost full about 80 gb free space was left on it .
thank you

Hi there gaurav77,

Sorry that you are facing some issues with your WD drive.
As your drive can't be accessed with the software tools that you've tried, then I guess you will need to use data recovery tools for DOS mode. Also, you can test the drive with WD's Data Lifeguard Diagnostic tool for DOS as well.
In similar cases, some users manage to access their drives with Ubuntu Live CD. Check this out: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/267999-32-recover-data-mode

WD's DLG tool for DOS: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=RgO2wy
