Hi,

My colleague dropped her WD MyPassport Ultra the other day, and was unable to accesss it afterwards. It still lights up and whirrs when you plug it in, so I connected it to my PC and tried to run EaseUS Pro but the software doesn't seem to be working properly.

I tried Western Digital's Data LifeGuard software, as I'd seen it advised by an official WD rep on here, but with both quick and extended scan I'm getting 'Too many bad sectors detected'.

Is there anything else I can do to try recover this? Is it worth trying to open the casing and connect a SATA-USB cable directly to the drive inside?

Thanks
