WD My passport ultra question.

I just got it to backup some files before I wipe my harddrive. Is it okay to get rid of the preloaded files in it or should I download them first then wipe it or keep them altogether?

Your call - I deleted all the preloaded garbage on mine. Worst case scenario, you could copy it to another drive then delete it

Just making sure. The drive will work properly without all of the preloaded stuff, correct?

It will work fine without the pre-loaded software unless you want to use the software for what it is there for. If you plan to copy files yourself or use some other software then the pre-loaded software is just taking up space and not needed.
