Hi,
I am in need of a new portable hard drive, and am upgrading from a 1TB drive to a 2TB drive. I have narrowed down my options to the following 2 - note: I am in Australia and these are Australian websites with prices in Australian dollars:

https://www.jbhifi.com.au/computers-tablets/all-computers--tablets/wd/wd-my-passport-ultra-2tb-portable-hard-drive-black/648323/

https://www.officeworks.com.au/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/officeworks/p/toshiba-2tb-canvio-usb-3-0-portable-hard-drive-to2tbcanba

To me, both of the drives seem to do the same thing, and I can't decide which one to buy. Which one would you guys recommend, and why?

Thanks in advance,
Jake

My choice would be the WD one irrespective of price difference.

Had bad experience with Toshiba ext HDDs, both failed within a year.

I'm using three WD externals and one Hitachi external now (I'm a great believer in keeping multiple backups), all had 5 years use & still working great.
