+ in computer management it shows up like this

+ does not show up on mini tool nor on getdataback

+ shows up on WD software but cant diagnose it and when it does it comes up as 0 capacity and that it passed
Untit2led.png
also SMART diagnose failed.

+trying to initialize it gives me a fatal device hardware error.

+when ever i plug it in it makes this weird clicking noise, also i tried opening my computer while it was plugged in. my computer was stuck on this loading screen and when i unplugged it, it started up normally this only happened once but i felt it was worth mentioning.

+cannot format it using WD softwares

please help me out and thank you.

Solution
Click of death.. google it
Sounds like you HDD pcb somehow lost its way on the disks, could be a fried chip or physical disk parts worn down.

Either way, before you write it off, try to take the disk out of the external box and plug it in as a regular internal disk. Prolly wont work if its COD but worth a try.

From there, either you need a pcb replacement (best case) or actual data recovery service $$$

On that note. External drives are really not for frequent use.

First off the cabinets dont cool well second the little USB to SATA boards that run the disks are rarely decent quality.
Externals are good for backups and moving chunks of data between computers.

i dont mind losing the data as long as the driver works, like i said i tried formatting it and it wont let me.
so in the end i have to send it to the repair center...no way to fix it .

thank you for your help and everyone else
