hello. i have an external WD My Passport 1TB and it wont open yet i can hear the sound when its connected to the laptop or PC. the led is flashing but just constantly flashing each second. tryied Data Lifeguard but each time the hdd its conected its either not opening after the driver check or the lifeguard opens but when i try to click on My Passport, LifeGuard freezes same for Disk Management it freezes, i have over 500gb of data on it yet i dont mind loosing it, just want to get it fix. if i refresh My Computer it shows up but with a diferent letter. when it was working it had the letter G: now it have letter H:
Update: found the problem. disk platters were damaged. i open the drive and found deep scratches on both of the platters
