I had ordered a WD 6TB mybook couple of months ago. I've got the product today(I am from Sri Lanka so it takes a long time).
I directly started backing up my other drive once i formatted the 6TB disc. The orocess started smoothly.(100mb/s , file sizes varied from 20 GB to 0.5GB.)Then i noticed mild vibrations coming from the drive occasionally. It wasn't audible unless you put the ear almost on the surface of the drive. So i went to the WD website downloaded the diagnostic tools and started a quick check. Immediately the drive started vibrating loudly then it went quiet , test showed it was a successful check and no errors.

But the real problem started afterwards , my computer couldn't recognise the drive. I tried with my laptop, friend's laptop , no use. I no longer wish to run any tests with the drive. Instead I am planning to return it to the seller as i've got 30 days warranty left.
My question is are these 6TB western digital drives reliable? I mean compared to their other sizes.
Anyone has experienced the same problems as i have before? If you did , how was the replacement? Cause i'm not sure what to expect when the next drive arrives.
Thanks.
