WD Passport not mounting, not in disk utility

Hi,

I have my external storage is not longer mounting and does not appear in disk utility on mac air. To the best of my knowledge, it has never been improperly ejected, as I've read on forums. Over the past couple of weeks, it has had issues mounting, but appeared in disk utility although not verifiable (verify disk was grayed out). Mysteriously, it resolved itself each time until now...

For the last couple of days, it will not even appear in disk utility. I have tried multiple plugs and each USB port. The blue light comes on and whirs, but nothing.

Please, please help if you can :??:

Sorry that you are facing some issues with your WD drive. 🙁
Do you have some data stored on the device? Is it still under warranty?

Apart from that, you can try attaching the drive with a different cable. In case the issue persists, it may be a good idea to test it with WD's Data Lifeguard Diagnostic. Though, you will need to attach it to a Windows based system in order to do that.
