My WD Passport wont connect anymore. When I plug it in, it shows under safe hardware remover, devices and printers, and in device manager. It says to initialize, but wont.

WD Utilities shows SMART status Failed and wont run any other test.

Data Safe Guard Shows Pass:

Hi there Nicole_Carter,

That is really unpleasant. :(

Unfortunately, if the drive shows as having 0 capacity, it could mean that it has failed.

Have you tried to attach it with a different USB cable to another computer?

In case the issue persists and taking into consideration that the drive is recognized as having 0 capacity (you won't be able to access it with software tools), you have a couple of options:
- Contact a data recovery company, if the data stored on the drive is really important. You can check WD's Data Recovery Partners out: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=8l2Ieb
- Contact the place you got it from or WD's Support, in case the drive is under warranty, and eventually RMA it: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=PQmxtd

Let me know how this goes,
D_Know_WD :)
