My WD Passport will not mount on my mac because I pulled it out without ejecting it properly. I plugged it into my other mac and found the data. I am copying the data now. In order to get this to work on MY mac again...do I need to open the disk utility and "erase" it? I saw that on some other forum. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
jenny

PS. Looks like the hubby's mac has no room for the data dump. It's an airbook so I can't even burn discs. Sigh. 🙁

Maybe I can dump data on my work computer and then reformat it?

Any suggestions? Take this hard drive to a local shop? I think I'm techy enough to fix this if someone will help me.

Thanks,

Reformatting it should do the trick.

As regards recovering the existing data from it first, you'll need to do that on a Mac since a Windows PC won't recognise a MacOS partition.
