I bought a Western Digital Passport SE 1TB external hard drive to use with my Acer Aspire 3500 laptop computer. My laptop has 60GB hard drive, and I wanted additional storage. While I am able to use the passport external hard drive, I can't use it for 'sustained periods' of time. I have to disconnect the drive because I get the message: "Windows Delayed Write Failed" message.

Is there any way to stop the "Windows - Delayed Write Faied" error message from constantly popping up on my computer?

Does the drive have a dedicated power supply? If not, it may be that the USB port is not providing enough power to the drive. I would try switching USB ports until find one that is "powered".
