WD Red prices trending up?

I paused before ordering WD Red 4TB drives and saw the cost go from 162 to 185 at the mail order place I always use. 6TB didn't seem to change, so I might stretch for the larger drives. This happened within the last week.

Trend?

There is no brick and mortar retail option for me and free shipping helps a lot here in Hawaii. Most don't offer free shipping to this entire state.

Not your imagination.

I looked at the Amazon price history, and it increased mid January, and just now again. It was down to $155 at around New Year's.

Thanks for the link to a price history... did not know the info was available. Wish the trend was going the other direction. I was hoping someone would know if they would be heading back down for reasons of less transportation cost (low oil prices and lower jet fuel for shipping) Further, the dollar is UP and so our dollars should buy more in overseas-assembled hardware.

You can certainly wait it out for a month or two. I have learned to try and avoid hardware purchases at this time of year. As the new products from CES make it to market, the prices tend to drop on most of this from now until summer.
