OK, still have the problem.

I transferred my entire mp3 collection to my bro's computer...

ASUS A7V333
Maxtor Diamondmax 9

and it is also suffering from this delay. Before I transferred them, my bros computer ran perfectly fine altough a very small delay when browsing folders does eventually occur after heavy use.

Please help - I'm sure you'll agree our hardware is fairly new and more than capable for running Win98SE - so wot's the problem?

Thanks people!

The first link shows that Microsoft is aware of this common problem - but it doesn't apply for WinXP - or does it?

Any XP users with this delay problem?
