Hello, i have bought new pc and recived it few days ago, my primary boot drive is ssd and storage drive WD Black 2 TB. what i noticed about this drive is (WD HDD), my maximus x hero mobo lights up every 2-3 sec LED above sata connectors and each time it lights up, HDD makes some wierd clicky noice, i suspect thats HDD activity indicator on motherboard ( i just checked LED outside of case does it light up when this sound is produced, and indeed it lights up), now this clicky noice from HDD is slowly going on my nerves, i have enough wierd noices from gpu coil whine and now this on top too.

hdd makes this noice on idle and when working, when i copy some files or install something, HDD makes its normal sound inside but this never stops, i have done tests with hard disk sentinel, samsung magician and im doing it atm with WD life guard diagnostic software. i have had WD hdds in past and they never made this extra noice, its makes sevral ''clicks'' in very short time, like 4-5 in a second, then stops and 2-3 second later again, and so on without stop.

is this normal? is there something i need to configure for hdd to work properly? whats bugging me now is, hdd shows constant activity every 2-3 sec.

Solution
ok, god damn it, i found whats the issue, its HW info, abusing my HDD like insane, baby is now dead silent like it should be. this damn programs. i had all kind of conflicts in this last 6 days, this is unreal. from stuttering ingame cause of mouse drivers to cpu not iddle'ing, and now to HDD acting crazy.

i have disabled HW info HDD monitoring ( WD HDD monitoring) in sensors and it resolved my issue ^^
since you just received the computer and the drive this may be due to a feature the WD black drive has called WD's StableTrac where it needs to calibrate the drive on first use to adjust the drive for stab-ability and performance so the drive may need more time for the drive to adjust properly and the sounds you are hearing may because of this.

you can always download a tool like CrystalDiskInfo or HWinfo to confirm the health of ur drives. just go to your drive and check your SMART health check. this is assuming you set your SATA mode to AHCI.
also you can run a "chkdsk /scan /x c:" to only check (not fix errors) if there are any bad sectors.
and yes. @captaincharisma mentioned is true and normal for some drives.

i have it for 6 days now, i have loaded like 700GB on it already, they configured me partitions on it, 2x 1TB

how long it needs to calm down? can it be some program is making this activity? when this WD test is done in 2 hours i will go in safe mode to see if it makes sounds then. im not sure but i think it makes this sound when im in UEFI/BIOS. gonna check to be 100% sure
